Im just going to order a Nordic +6 for the M2 and hope it fits. Randy Wakeman, Randy Wakeman Outdoors My Retay has performed beyond my expectations In every degree, from the first pull of the trigger to the last one on the final day of the season. Now my Girsan MC HD tactical (Benelli clone) has a 7+1 capacity. If you can afford to spend a little more, though, you can get a better gun with more readily available parts and service. Retay’s also do not have the point of impact problems of many Benelli-stamped shotguns. My 18 year old son enjoys shooting this gun, however, so it still gets used frequently. It functions fine and performs as advertised but there are features, fit, and finish options available on more high end guns that leave this one behind (even in guns that are still sub $1,000). Having said all of that, I have several other shotguns that I like much more than this one. It's been a really good gun for my family and I. If this is your price range, I don't think you'll be really disappointed with the gun. It functions as advertised and the only issue I've ever had with it is that it sometimes doesn't cycle light loads if you don't shoulder it correctly (a problem with inertia guns in general). Yes it's cheaper and don't go looking for off the shelf parts and upgrades for it (thought I did manage to make a mag extension fit). I will use this gun about 80 clays and 20 upland hunting. The shop people suggest that the Benelli is more reliable. I have narrowed it down to the Beretta 391 or the Benelli montefeltro. I think the fact that it is a gas driven gun is enough for me to consider the Stoeger over it.I own one of these (have had it for a couple of years now) and, honestly: it works great. Buck, I am interested in purchasing a semi-auto shotgun.

I know a lot of people use the JM Pro without issue but I have heard of a lot of people having issues.

On you list the MK3 is the only one you can buy and take straight to a match which IMO is a great place to start especially at the price point. The recoil mgt stock on the Beretta looks like something I would be interested. It does hit somewhat hard about as hard as my Browning Citori but not near as hard as on old Winchester 1400 gas gun which is what I have to compare with. I spent some time recently shooting clays with it and just cut the stock down to shorten LOP and it now really fits me really well. I still have issues with the Fiocchi slugs though but plan to get a replacement spring from MOA this winter. It cycles low power estate or any other std target load shot. I shot it out of the box for two matches last year. That being said, I just got started in 3 Gun in 2020 and went out and bought the MK3 Freedom and have been very happy with it. At that point something like the $1895 Benelli from Hawkeye Ordnance would be a better deal IMO. I weighed my options for a backup in the sub-500 guns and the Girsan was almost a clone to my M1 so I decided to go with it.

Also consider you will still need some mods like an extended mag tube and possibly some work to further open up the loading port. Randy, youre review was a big push in my decision to try out the Girsan.

Carbon fiber or steel, these are developed to fit many models from the top brands in the industry, these tubes come in a variety of capacities from +2 to +6 rounds making them great for waterfowlers chasing snow geese, 3 gunners and home defense applications. I think the recoil management on the 1301 is something to consider. Sure Cycle extended magazine tubes are unlike any standard extension on the market. The Beretta 1301 Comp Pro is a buy once cry once deal and really shouldn't be compared to the rest but that looks like a REALLY nice shotgun! If you are considering that level of a gun I would probably put the Benelli M2 on your list to at least take a look at. It has the same rotary bolt and inertia operating system as the Benelli, and I’m even told by Zenith reps that some of the parts may be interchangeable, but its retail price is closer to 500 instead of 1,500. I know there is a vast difference in price and quality and some guns (maybe all) need work or more work than others. Recently I unexpectedly came across what I think can be called the poor man’s Benelli from the Turkish manufacturer Girsan MC312 and imported by Zenith. I know now might not be the best time to purchase a gun with supply and demand upping prices but i need to get something soon.
